Boroondara Youth Foundation aims to support youth-led change within our community. There are two ways to get involved with BYF as a participant. Either by applying for a Youth Grant or volunteering as Grant Panelist.

Youth Grants

We provide Grants of up to $1,500 to 12-25 year-old locals who have an idea that will create a positive impact on their local community.

We offer young people the opportunity to put their ‘community-focused’ project ideas into action.

Applying for a Boroondara Youth Foundation Grant is easy. Applicants are required to tell us about their project idea by completing the online application form by using the link below. Applications are open during the two annual grant rounds – April-May and September-October. Further assistance in completing the application can be provided by a Program Facilitator at request.

Shortlisted applications are forwarded to the Boroondara Youth Foundation Grants Panel. The Panel is made up of a diverse group of young people from Boroondara. They assess Grant Applications based on the change they would like to see in their community. The selection process is designed to further empower our local youth – youth for youth!

Benefits

Through creating and leading their own project, participants can develop ‘real life’ employability skills and a real sense of entrepreneurship, as they build their confidence & leadership ability and take pride in their achievements. All whilst strengthening their local community and further developing their local networks.
